Short Term Accommodation (STA)

NDIS Short Term Accommodation in Melbourne's West

A comfortable break for you, and peace of mind for your family.

At Heart & Hope Care, we know that time away from your usual routine can be good for everyone. Our Short Term Accommodation (STA) service gives NDIS participants a planned stay with trained support workers, so you can try new things, build independence and enjoy a change of scene while your family or carers get a well-earned rest.

As a registered NDIS provider (Provider No. 405 015 7036) based in Sunshine North, we support participants across Melbourne’s western suburbs, including St Albans, Footscray and Caroline Springs. Every stay is planned around your goals, routines and preferences, so it feels familiar from the first day.

Through NDIS Short Term Accommodation, we can help you:

  • Take a planned break from your usual living arrangements.
  • Give family and carers time to rest and recharge.
  • Practise everyday skills in a supported setting.
  • Stay connected to your routines, interests and community.
  • Try a new living arrangement before making longer term decisions.
  • Access personal care and daily living support throughout your stay.

STA is usually funded through your Core supports budget, but the amount and the number of days differ from plan to plan. Check your plan or ask your support coordinator, and we can help you work out what is available to you.

STA is a temporary stay, planned for a set number of days. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an ongoing arrangement where you live in a home with regular daily support. Many participants use STA first to see whether SIL could be the right fit.
